“Trees in species-rich forests often suffer less damage from insect pests compared to trees in forests dominated by a few common species”

When planting new vegetation, it needs to be hardy enough to be able to handle the temperatures.

I found a map showing the planting zones, but it’s near impossible to look at that and eyeball where we are located on it.

So I found us on Google maps, then screenshot our location.  I overlayed it on this map and made it slightly transparent so I could see as I moved it around.

I then tried to find some way to align on geography on both maps.

I could see the Snake River.  So I adjusted the Google map to the correct scale and to the river to perfectly align, giving the planting zone for our location

Zooming in, it’s likely 6a or 6b

But getting the GPS coordinates off a tiny bit is super easy with the way I derived this and there is a lot of zone changes bouncing around inside of a tiny spot on this image.  You be the judge!
